Sometimes when I look at people's Facebook wall I'm kinda shocked. I once even painted illustration, which was inspired by a friend's post. Something about the pork chop in the restaurant... I imagine the situation looked like this:
- Ah, this pork chop in restaurant is fucking awesome! I gonna make photo with my iPhone and upload it to Facebook. I rock! Everybody will know I am eating at fancy restaurant and my wife is so boring that I need to play with my smart phone.
- Oh honey, you're doing photo of the pork chop? Awesome! Upload it to FB! And I gonna make photo number 38 298 493 of our beloved baby child. It has no pictures in the restaurant yet!

One year ends, another begins. Is that change anything? Probably not, it is only the convention. But somehow it reminded me that there was no update here for a quite long time. This is kinda related to the fact that I paint less during summer and spring. As usual I have thousands of unfinished paintings waiting for their turn. It is Winter here in Poland now. Snow and cold outside will keep me inside my workshop so there is hope for them. Today I'll show you an illustration without hidden meaning. I won with it a competition for painting a character from the computer game called Diablo 3 by Blizzard Entertainment.

The third exhibition of Dominik Skarbek-Kruszewski contains illustrations, multimedia presentations and spatial installations. It will undoubtedly be appealing to enthusiasts of dark and magical styles.
The exhibition consists of a series of original, fairylike though often gloomy illustrations created by using digital techniques, painted with a pen tablet and printed in a large format. The works are part of the author's web project "Illustrated Apparent Reality".
He illustrates various phenomena as well as human and social world surrounding us which are transformed by his personal perception. He is not interested in photo-realistic copy of what we see. Dominik presents his own metaphorical vision of the world. His paintings are full of bright colors, bizarre characters and mysterious atmosphere. They are characterized by distinctive and expressive style.

When we were kids, it was enough to have some imagination and a few common objects to replace average day with an incredible journey to the world of pirates.
You can view all illustrations in the gallery.
